D.J. Matthews has been a big part of that success.
With three straight state championships, the Conquerors are primed for a fourth straight crown and have been ranked among the top 25 teams in the nation. Matthews has been a member of all three state championship teams and he continues to make big plays his senior year.
In a recent 34-0 win over Columbia (Lake City, Fla.), Matthews went up between two defenders and made a catch to complete a 38-yard pass play.
For the season, Matthews (5-foot-11, 165 pounds) has eight catches for 106 yards. For his career, Matthews has 144 catches for 2,359 yards and 21 touchdowns.
