Over three weeks are in the books for the baseball season in Texas. Early on, some players are putting up big offensive numbers as spring rolls around. MaxPreps looks at the top five players in four major statistical offensive categories.
Batting averageKent Michael, Fr., Orangefield, .706The freshman catcher is off to a phenomenal start to his career. Through 10 games, he is 12-for-17, to go along with nine walks for an on-base percentage of .812. Michael is 7-for-8 in his last four games.
Brooks Embry, Sr., Riesel, .700Embry is 14-for-20 in his first seven games with five multi-hit games. He has six extra-base hits and 12 RBIs and an on-base percentage of .769.
Matthew Bohac, Sr., Newton, .633Bohac has already collected 19 hits in his team's first 10 contests. He has some pop in his bat, too, stroking five doubles and three triples.
Adrian Gonzales, Sr., Waco, .632Gonzales is off to a blazing fast start at 12-for-19. He already has three games with three or more RBIs, including a five-RBI contest. The senior has 14 RBIs in all.
Noeh Solis, Sr., Kerens, .625The four-year varsity player is 10-for-16 in his team's first 10 games. Add in eight walks and eight hit-by-pitches, Solis has a .812 on-base percentage; he has tallied 20 runs.
Home runsAndrew Mills, Jr., Plano East (Plano), 6Mills didn't have a home run in his team's first eight games, but has six in his last nine games. He blasted home runs in five straight games to go with 12 RBIs during that stretch.
Stacey Bailey, Jr., Kerens, 5Bailey homered in his first two games of the season and has five on the year. He hit just four all of last year. The junior has nine extra-base hits in 26 official at-bats.
Payton Strambler, Sr., Centennial (Burleson), 4Strambler opened the year without a home run in his team's first 10 games, but has exploded for four in the last eight. He also has seven doubles this season.
Elvin Rosa, Sr., South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie), 4Rosa had a coming out party with two home runs, seven RBIs and was 3-for-4 in an 11-9 victory over Monterey on March 2. Nine of Rosa's 14 hits are the extra-base variety.
Cameron Haller, Sr., Marshall, 3To go along with three big flies, Haller has 14 RBIs and 18 hits in his team's first 17 games. He had 18 RBIs all of last year.
Runs batted inTanner Broadfoot, Sr., Clyde, 33In 10 of his team's 16 games, Broadfoot has two or more RBIs. He was 3-for-3 with six RBIs in a 22-0 victory over City View on March 3. Broadfoot's team is 16-0 and has tallied 180 runs already this year.
Brandon Berry, Sr., Clyde, 24Berry provides a solid 1-2 offensive punch with Broadfoot. He has eight multi-RBI games to go with 24 hits and 19 runs scored.
Noel Vela, Sr., Veterans Memorial (Mission), 24Vela has 14 RBIs in his last six games to bump his season total up to 24. He was 4-for-4 with five RBIs, three doubles and three runs scored in a 16-1 March 3 win over Mission.
Hayden Evans, Sr., Cypress Ranch (Houston), 24Evans had a monster game on March 2 against Fort Bend Austin with a grand slam, triple and six RBIs in a 20-2 victory. He also had four RBIs in a game his season.
Ronaldo Saenz, Sr., Edna, 24Six of Saenz's 24 runs batted in his year came in one game. He tallied three hits and a double in a 19-15 win over Rice Consolidated on March 3.

RunsRoman De Leon, Sr., Veterans Memorial (Mission), 25De Leon has come across to score two or more times in nine of his team's 15 games. He has scored 19 runs in the last 10 games.
John Park, Sr., Clyde, 25Park has taken advantage of teammates Tanner Broadfoot and Brandon Berry's RBI prowess early in the season. Park has scored a run in every game this year, including two or more nine times.
Tanner Riley, Sr., Clyde, 21Riley is another Clyde senior who is off to a fast start. He has been on base 33 times this season and came around to score 21 runs. He had four hits, four runs and four RBIs in a 22-0 victory early in the year.
Chris Garcia, Sr., Waco, 21Garcia has been on base 26 times and remarkably scored 21 runs. During a four-game stretch, he scored 11 times in four double-digit victories.
Brad Burkel, Jr., Lindale, 21Burkel had his best game on March 14, reaching base twice on hits, once on a walk and once on a fielder's choice and scored four times.
Cade Orsak, Sr., Edna, 21Orsek had a phenomenal four-game stretch where he had nine hits and scored 15 times.
