Savanna Trapp has blocked a state-record 190 shots this year. The record of 187 had stood since 1993. Her career total stands at 343, which gives her an eventual shot at the state record of 643.

Hayden Hamby of West Morgan (Trinity, Ala.) has made a commitment to Purdue University, according to the Decatur Daily. Hamby, who has 3,336 career points, averaged almost 33 points and 11 rebounds with a school-record 56-point game. She also had offers from Alabama, Memphis and St. Louis.

* Peyton Little – a junior committed to the University of Texas - scored a record 43 points to spark
Wylie (Abilene, Texas) to a 66-58 victory over Lovejoy (Lucas, Texas) in the Class 3A state championship game. The previous title-game record of 42 had stood since 1979.
* Dave Preller, who has won more than 530 games and the 2003 Class 4A state title, will retire as head coach at
Woodbury (Minn.) at the conclusion of this season.
