Pacific Grove celebrated an undefeated season in 2013. The Breakers have won 38 games in a row, but that doesn't rank as the best current prep baseball winning streak.

Pensacola Catholic (Fla.)
is the defending MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Champion and it is the
winner of two consecutive state championships with an undefeated season
in 2013.
However, the Florida team doesn't have the longest high school baseball win streak in the nation. That honor goes to
Magnolia Heights (Senatobia, Miss.), which won its last four games of the 2012 season and posted the nation's best record last year with a 38-0 mark while winning a Mississippi Association of Independent Schools state title. The Chiefs are off to a 5-0 start in 2014 to give them 47 straight victories, with all of the wins this year coming in their own tournament last week. Three of the victories were by shutout.
Pensacola Catholic ranks tied for second place in consecutive wins with 38 in a row. After winning the final five games of the 2012 season to win the state championship, The Crusaders went 30-0 in 2013 and were
named the national champions by MaxPreps. They are off to a 3-0 start in 2014.
Pensacola Catholic is tied for second with
Pacific Grove (Calif.), which has won back-to-back Central Coast Section Division III championships in California. The Breakers won their final seven games in 2012 and went 31-0 in 2013. Pacific Grove has yet to begin its season.
Owasso (Okla.), the defending Class 6A state champion in Oklahoma, and the
No. 2 team in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 Preseason National Rankings, has the fourth-best streak with 36 games in a row. The Rams have had several scrimmages so far this season, including a 5-2 loss to Jenks, however those games do not count toward the streak. The Rams will officially begin their season in March.
The only other team with 30 straight wins is
Bay City Western (Auburn, Mich.), which won the Division I state championship in Michigan last year. Bay City Western won its final 30 games of the 2013 season and will begin the 2014 season in March.
The final two teams on our list are
Bonneville (Idaho Falls, Idaho) and
Sun Prairie (Wis.). Bonneville has 26 straight wins after going undefeated last year with a state championship in Idaho. Sun Prairie, meanwhile, won its final 24 games of the 2013 season to capture the Wisconsin Division I state title.
Portsmouth (N.H.) holds the
national record for consecutive wins with 89, set in 2012.
