1.
Bishop's (La Jolla)
Head coach:
Marlon Wells
2014-15 finish:
24-10
The Knights had a weird year, going 2-4 in league play, losing in their San Diego Section Open Division opener and then reaching the Division V regional final. Section Player of the Year
Destiny Littleton
returns after averaging 33.7 points and 12 rebounds per contest as a sophomore, and
Alessandra Aguirre
is another junior-to-be who played an important role, averaging 13 points.
Layla Cunningham
will be a senior and she posted 13.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest.

La Jolla Country Day
Head coach:
Terri Bamford
2014-15 finish:
18-11
The defending Division V state champions also lost their first Open Division section playoff game and then beat Eastside College Prep (East Palo Alto) for the state crown.
Mai-Loni Henson
returns for her senior year after being named to the All-Section Team (16.4 points and 11.7 rebounds per game), and there was an astounding six freshmen on the roster last season.

3.
Mission Hills (San Marcos)
Head coach:
Christopher Kroesch
2014-15 finish:
26-6
The Grizzlies won the Open Division section title as the No. 2 seed but lost to Long Beach Poly in the first round of the regional playoffs, same division. They're sitting pretty for a return to the spotlight, as two first team all-section players are back - and they're both tall.
Madison Adams
(5-10) will be a senior forward and
Khayla Rooks
(6-0) will be just a junior. And Kroesch was also the San Diego Section Coach of the Year, so the Grizzlies look like they're covered for this season.

4.
Torrey Pines (San Diego)
Head coach:
Denise Bennett
2014-15 finish:
21-10
The Falcons went 1-1 in the Open Division section playoffs and then lost their first game in the Division I regional playoffs. Senior
Sierra Campisano
is a star, as she averaged 24.7 points and 12.6 rebounds per game last season, and she will hope to lead the team deeper into playoff success. Last year's team had eight seniors, so younger players will need to step in.

5.
Horizon Christian Academy (San Diego)
Head coach:
Vickie Carrington
2014-15 finish:
23-9
The Panthers were Division I section champions but left out of the regional playoffs. The good news is they return 27.4 points, 2.2 blocks and 21.1 rebounds per game from
Dijonai Carrington
, an all-section player as a junior. Role players surround Carrington, like
Sierra Rains
and
Katie Doran
.
