If a running back was created in a lab,
David Gabriel Georges of
Baylor (Chattanooga, Tenn.) would be the result.
As a junior, the 6-foot, 210-pound ballcarrier became the fourth player since 2006 to be named MaxPreps National Player of the Year as a non-senior.
Gabriel Georges also became the first running back since 2012 to take home the award. The last to do so was Derrick Henry.
Regarded as a top 10 prospect in the Class of 2027 by
247Sports, the native of Canada led Baylor to its first undefeated season in 52 years after rushing for nearly 2,000 yards and 27 touchdowns.

His best performance came against rival
McCallie (Chattanooga) in the Division II Class AAA semifinals when he carried 32 times for 431 yards and seven touchdowns in a 56-35 win.
Gabriel Georges announced his final four in April. He will choose between Georgia, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Tennessee on July 22.
Baylor opens the 2026 season against
Brentwood Academy (Brentwood) on Aug. 20 in a rematch of last year's state championship game.
