Video: Rob Gronkowski high school highlightsSee Gronk in action during his days at Woodlands Hills.Rob Gronkowski is already winning over fans in his new city.
After a fire destroyed around $15,000 worth of equipment housed in a storage shed at
Blake High School (Tampa, Fla.), the new Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end is stepping up to help offset the losses.
"Hey everyone, last week we heard about an unfortunate incident in Tampa where a fire burned down a high school storage shed full of their team's football equipment," Gronk said via Instagram. "Sadly, they lost it all. Well, the Gronk Nation Youth Foundation and my new team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are all about helping youth reach their full potential. So, we're gonna do just that. To the Blake High School Yellow Jackets, you're getting a brand new storage unit and new football equipment to replace everything that was lost."
The three-time Super Bowl champion played his high school football at
Williamsville North (Williamsville, N.Y.) and
Woodland Hills (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
Blake is coming off a 4-6 season in 2019 but should have plenty of positive momentum heading into 2020 thanks to Gronkowski, who won the WWE 24/7 title at Wrestlemania 36 in March.
