The University of Alabama landed one national recruiting commitment but lost another as Auburn chased the BCS Championship. Running back
Demetrius Hart, a 5-foot-8, 190-pound running back from Dr. Phillips (Orlando, Fla.), who rushed for 2,224 yards and scored a state-record 50 touchdowns this past season, announced at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl that he plans to sign with Nick Saban's Crimson Tide. He originally had committed to Michigan. Hart ran for 100 yards and earned MVP honors at the all-star game.
CALLOWAY CHANGES TO AUBURNRussellville's
Brent Calloway, a 6-foot-2, 223-pound running back and linebacker considered by some as Alabama's top prep football prospect, switched from Alabama to Auburn in recent weeks. He said Auburn has promised to give him a shot at running back and Alabama wanted him to play linebacker.
Calloway rushed 1,974 yards and 29 touchdowns at Russellville in 2010. He made it official at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl last week. Auburn also picked up another major commitment when linebacker
