DeMatha and Lowndes join the Power 25 after dominant out of state wins.

A breakdown of this week's rankings as two new teams join. 

Lowndes (Valdosta, Ga.) and DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) join the Power 25 high school football rankings presented by Powerade this week after both won big against out of state opponents.

The Georgia program cruised to a 48-21 win over back-to-back Florida 6A state champs Northwestern (Miami). The Vikings scored a touchdown on their first seven possessions and ended the night with 379 yards rushing. Jacurri Brown ran for 174 yards and two scores while adding another touchdown through the air.

DeMatha is back in the rankings for the second time this year as it rolled to a 42-0 win over St. Ignatius (Cleveland). Marshawn Lloyd and Sieh Bangura both rushed for two scores. The Stags have won three straight since a season opening loss to No. 2 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.). They have outscored opposition 109-6 during the win streak.

No. 7 St. Louis (Honolulu, Hawaii) had to overcome a 16-6 halftime deficit to extend its winning streak to 32 games. The Crusaders outscored a previously undefeated Punahou (Honolulu) squad 19-3 in the second half and Jayden de Laura had a monster night throwing for over 400 yards and two touchdowns. 

No. 5 St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Md.) bounced back in a big way after suffering its first loss since 2016. The Panthers beat Norland (Miami) 49-0 to give them their third shutout of the season. Up next is a huge test against No. 12 St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.).

No. 3 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) was in a tight game with DMV power St. John's (Washington, D.C.) but pulled away with 14 unanswered in the final quarter to pull out a 35-20 win. Sophomore running back Kaytron Allen had another huge game rushing for nearly 200 yards and two scores.
