Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2025-26 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Jaelynn Scott of
Wachusett Regional (Holden) is the 2025-26 MaxPreps Massachusetts High School Girls Basketball Player of the Year. The 6-foot senior guard led the Mountaineers to a 22-3 record and second straight Division 1 state championship.

In a 55-47 win over Springfield Central (Springfield) in the championship game, Scott tallied 11 points and six rebounds. In the 2025 title contest, she scored 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while draining the game-winning bucket to help the Mountaineers bring home the trophy for the first time in school history.
