Video: Umpire busts out sick dance moves
Ever seen an umpire dance like this in New Mexico? A couple California teams have seen it.According to the
MaxPreps Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard, the most powerful area in New Mexico baseball this spring is District 1 in Class 6A, which boasts three teams among the state's top five in the computer rankings.
Rio Rancho, large-school state champion three times since 2007, is the top-ranked team in the state. Cleveland, also from Rio Rancho, is the No. 4 team, while Volcano Vista (Albuquerque) holds down the No. 5 position. Rounding out the top five are District 4 leader Carlsbad at No. 2 and District 5 leader Rio Grande at No. 6.
In Class 5A, the top-ranked team is Goddard (Roswell), which represents District 4 and is the No. 3 team in the state as of Monday.
So while Albuquerque and its northern suburbs have the top squads in 6A, the balance of power in 5A rests in other parts of the state.
Class 4A's highest-ranked teams are from District 5 - Sandia Prep (Albuquerque) at No. 8 and Hope Christian (Albuquerque) at No. 18.
In Class 3A, District 4 has the top two ranked teams - Texico at No. 20 and Dexter at No. 30.
The smallest class, A-2A, is led by District 6 representative Floyd, which is rated No. 44 in the state.
The top 5 in each class are listed below with state rank and districts represented. Note that the data is from the Tuesday edition of the rankings.

Cleveland has made its way to the upper echelons of the state rankings with small ball and big hits.
