Princeton (N.C.), high school football's leading rusher nationally, added to his impressive totals with 243 yards on the ground in a 64-0 win Friday over Wake Prep Academy (Wake Forest).
McPhatter scored six times on the night with four coming via the running game, upping his season totals to 1,676 yards in six games for the Bulldogs. He didn't play in the fourth quarter of the running-clock contest.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound junior had rushing scores of 42 and 8 yards in the first quarter and added a 25-yard score in the second period.
McPhatter added a pair of fumble recoveries for scores in the second quarter covering 36 and 78 yards, respectively. He had 180 yards rushing in the first half on 13 carries.
In the second half, he ran six times for 63 yards and a 36-yard score to cap his night as the Bulldogs improved to 3-3.
In three varsity seasons, McPhatter is closing in on 6,000 yard rushing for Princeton. As a sophomore, he was second in North Carolina with 2,457 yards.
