California's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trinity Chu, who scored 15 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Sofie Addiego, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Foothill has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. The game between Foothill and Monte Vista wasn't particularly close, with Foothill falling 76-59. Foothill has struggled against Monte Vista recently, as their match on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
California has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Foothill, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-4.
California won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, slipping by Foothill 53-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for California since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
