Video: 536 Yards, 8 TDs - Will Olvera (Palm Springs, CA)Glendale (Springfield, Mo.) quarterbacks continue to make their imprint on the national record book, as Alex Huston had season-high totals in completions and attempts while throwing for 579 yards and six touchdowns last week.
A high school quarterback has completed 42 or more passes 65 times in high school history. Huston, in his first seven games as a varsity quarterback, has done it five times. He had a season-best 53 completions in a season-high 72 attempts last week in a 61-44 loss to Rolla.
Huston is averaging 516.4 yards per game and leads the nation by nearly 800 yards over the No. 2 passer on the yardage list.
Cade Dyal of Tivy (Kerrville, Texas) nearly broke the school record for passing yards in a game, as he threw for 500 yards in a 65-49 win over Boerne-Champion. Current Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel set the school record with 503 yards in 2010.
Ss'ven Walker of Weed (Calif.) had a very efficient game against University Prep (Redding, Calif.). He caught five passes for 300 yards with all five catches going for touchdowns, including a 90-yard reception.
