2026 Georgia Preseason MaxPreps Top 25 high school football rankings

Buford is the early No. 1 after winning state and going 15-0 in 2025.

State champion Buford enters 2026 as the top-ranked team in the MaxPreps preseason top 25 for Georgia.

The Wolves defeated Carrollton 28-21 to capture the GHSAA state championship and finish No. 1 in the MaxPreps Top 25. Three-star senior Silas Nuckles returns after picking off four passes while the defense picked off 21 as a unit.

Other players to watch from the Peach State this season include five-star seniors D.J. Jacobs of Blessed Trinity (Roswell) and K.J. Green of Stephenson (Stone Mountain).

Reigning Georgia state champions include Thomas County Central (Thomasville) in Class 5A, Creekside (Fairburn) in Class 4A, Sandy Creek (Tyrone) in Class 3A, Carver (Columbus) in Class 2A, Worth County (Sylvester) in Class A Division 1 and Bowdon in Class A Division II.
