How to watch: MaxPreps Game of the Week heads to Nevada as Bishop Gorman hosts St. John Bosco in national No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown

No. 1 Braves, No. 2 Gaels to square off with national title implications on the line early.

In a showdown between the top two teams in this week's MaxPreps Top 25, No. 1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) will travel to No. 2 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) to kickoff the 2026 MaxPreps Game of the Week series.

The national showcase will be streamed free on the MaxPreps YouTube channel.

Bishop Gorman went 11-1 last year and finished ranked No. 3 in the nation. Oregon commit Hayden Stepp and Cal pledge Kamil Loud lead the Gaels defensively as seniors.

Offensively, Gorman will be led by speedy wide receiver Zyren Menor, a four-star prospect in the Class of 2028 who caught 14 touchdowns receptions as a sophomore. In the season-opening 41-0 win Friday against Somerset Academy Losee (North Las Vegas, Nev.), Menor had three catches in the game's opening possession.

Bosco was ranked No. 1 in 2025 with a 9-0 record before losing its final two games, finishing No. 18 in the country. The Braves return three-star quarterback Koa Malau'ulu, who threw for 2,361 yards and 33 touchdowns as a sophomore.

It won't get any easier for the Braves down the line as MaxPreps National Football Editor Zack Poff has their schedule projected as the third-toughest in the nation.

On the sideline, Friday's matchup pits a pair of highly-accomplished head coaches against one another. Brent Browner took over the Bishop Gorman program in 2020 and has a career record of 63-4 with a national title in 2023.

Jason Negro is in his 17th season at St. John Bosco after coaching seven years at Trabuco Hills (Mission Viejo, Calif.). He has won 223 games with national titles in 2019 and 2022.
