What to watch: As per usual, Friday's game will figure prominently in what looks like a wide-open race for the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference regular season crown. DeMatha, the defending WCAC champion, started the season 1-2 with losses to Pennsylvania powers Archbishop Wood and La Salle College. But the Stags now have two straight wins against battle-tested Eastern Christian Academy (Elkton) and previously unbeaten league rival St. John's (Washington) in overtime last week. Meanwhile, Good Counsel (4-1) is also coming off its best win of the season, a 17-7 upset of then-nationally ranked Gonzaga (Washington). The Falcons outgained Gonzaga 170-22 on the ground with all but eight of its rushing yards coming from three-star junior running back
Jonathon Lee.
