Central (Miami) running back
James Cook is moving up. His classification in school, that is.
Perhaps the nation's top freshman running back last year has reclassified from the Class of 2019 to 2018, according to this report by
247Sports reporter Ryan Bartow.
The brother of Florida State standout Dalvin Cook will turn 17 on Sept. 25. He rushed for 715 yards and eight touchdowns last year, including 178 and three scores in the state-title victory for the Rockets. The 6-foot, 190-pounder was a MaxPreps first-team
Freshman all-American.
James Cook is already committed to Florida State and could essentially replace his brother, a first team collegiate all-American as a sophomore last season.
According to Bartow, Miami is his No. 2 school, followed by Michigan, USC and Texas. James Cook told Bartow that he plans to visit Florida State, Miami, Texas, USC, Clemson and Michigan in the summer.
