Mater Dei's (Santa Ana) Bryce Young made history in the Monarchs 51-14 win over JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano). He broke his own school record completing 17 consecutive passes to start the first half and had 373 yards passing and five touchdowns before halftime.

Up next for the No. 1 team in the country is the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. The brackets will be announced on Sunday at 11:45 a.m. PST.

The biggest upset this week came down in San Diego as Lincoln beat Cathedral Catholic 24-19.

St. John Bosco (Bellflower) showed why they are one of the best teams in the country bouncing back from a loss to No. 1 Mater Dei with a 56-10 win over Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita). The victory was so dominant 5-star quarterback DJ Uiagalelei didn't even play in the second half.
