Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding
performers in high school basketball. The tradition continues to close
out the 2025-26 season by naming the top player in each state.
Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in
addition to local and state accolades.
A repeat selection,
Gavin Lowe of
Olympus (Salt Lake City) is the 2025-26 MaxPreps Utah Player of the Year. The 6-foot senior guard led the Titans to a 25-2 record and their third consecutive state championship.
For the season, Lowe averaged 24.3 points, 5.6 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 3.4 steals per contest while shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from 3-point range and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.
