How does it
work? Nominees are selected from
statistics submitted on MaxPreps. Coaches who do not have current access may
request their free account here.
Weekly finalists are released on MaxPreps every
Tuesday and voting is conducted in a special poll.
Voting ceases at noon on Mondays. The winners are announced the next day
along with the next week's nominees.
Participants may vote as many
times as they want. It's a competition.
This past week, over 700,000 votes were
cast! So far this school year 3.4-million votes have
been
cast.

* Addison Burick, Louisville
VolleyballSenior had 50, 49 and 35 assists in wins
over Hoover, West Branch and Tallmadge, respectively. She has 701
assists this season and 1,922 for her career.
* Landon Montgomery, Heath Boys SoccerSenior
had seven goals in a 9-3 win over New Lexington. Has 93 points (37 goals
and 19 assists) this season.

Nominees
* Keegan Sell, Garfield (Garrettsville) Football
Senior carried the ball 13 times for 324 yards (averaged 24.5 yards per carry) and five TDs and caught a 37-yard TD pass in a 60-25 win over Brookfield. Also had 20 tackles and a forced fumble. Has 1,126 yards rushing and 20 TDs and 159 tackles, 25 TFL, five forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries this season.
* Vaughn Harber, St. Francis DeSales (Columbus) Boys Golf
Senior set a new golf state tournament record and won a D-I title with a two-day total of 135 (rounds of 69 and 66) at OSU’s Scarlett Course. His 135 broke the previous record of 141 set by Whitehall-Yearling's Brian Bridges and Toledo Bowsher’s Steve Stone, both in 1985.
* Tess Bucher, Hoover (North Canton) Girls Tennis
Senior won her school’s first tennis state championship, defeating Westlake’s Amara Brahmbhatt 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in the OHSAA Division I state singles championship. Finished state runner-up last year and placed fourth as both a freshman and a sophomore.
* Mia Hammond, New Albany Girls Golf
Sophomore shot four-under-par over two days to set the OHSAA D-I individual state tournament record and tie the overall record at the girls golf state tournament on the Gray Course at The Ohio State University. Hammond’s 136 (rounds of 67 and 69) matches the 136 (68-68)that Eaton’s Sarah Willis shot at the 2016 D-II state tournament. The previous Division I state tournament record was set by Katie Hallinan from Cincinnati Walnut Hills with a 137 (68 and 69) in 2017.
* Emma Wagner and Pratyusha Chauduri, Mason Girls Tennis
Tandem won the school’s first doubles trophy, defeating New Albany’s Richie Francois and Paige Cornelius, 6-0, 6-1, in the D-I doubles state championship. Wagner, a freshman, and Chauduri, a sophomore, were the first Mason tandem to play for a doubles state title and won each of their four matches at the state tournament in straight sets.
* Amiya Bowles, Bexley (Columbus) Girls Tennis
Sophomore won her second straight D-II state singles title, earning a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Cincinnati Indian Hills’ Martha Thompson in a rematch of last year’s state championship match. Bowles is the 14th two-time state champion in state history, and her title is the seventh singles state title in Bexley history, tying the school with Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown for the most singles state titles.
* Newton Hoops, Unioto (Chillicothe) Football
Senior completed 13-of-15 passes for 262 yards and six TDs in a 56-8 win over Southeastern. Has thrown for 2,343 yards and 29 TDs this season.
* Arya Chabria and Yasemin Bilgin, Columbus Academy (Gahanna) Girls Tennis
Tandem out-lasted Shaker Heights Hathaway Brown’s Summer Mu and Kate Mills, 7-6(6), 4-6, 7-5, in the Division II doubles state championship match. Chabria and Bilgin won their school’s third doubles state championship and first since 2012.
* Logan Sutto, Anthony Wayne (Whitehouse) Boys Golf
Senior shot a five-under-par round of 66 on the final day of the D-I golf state tournament to lead the Generals to their first state title and secure a two-day total of 136, which was good for a second place individual finish and broke the previous state tournament record of 141 set by Whitehall-Yearling's Brian Bridges and Toledo Bowsher’s Steve Stone, both in 1985.

SoccerJunior became the 17th player in state history
to score eight goals or more in a game when he had eight goals and an
assist in a 14-0 win over Garfield Heights.
* Mansour M'baye, Villa Angela-St. Joseph (Cleveland) Boys
SoccerSenior started the season with five hat tricks
or better en route to scoring an Ohio-leading 21 goals in wins over
Cornerstone Christian, Euclid, Cuyahoga Heights, Brush and Brookside.
His 45 points ranks No. 1 in the state as well.

FootballJunior carried the ball 26 times for 306
yards and three TDs in a 40-20 win over Shroder Paideia Academy. Through
three games he has 79 carries for 856 yards and 11 TDs.

FootballJunior caught six passes for 147 yards and a
TD and had three interceptions, one of which he returned for a TD, in a
38-25 win over Heath.

completed 45-of-57 passes for 470 yards and four TDs and carried the
ball 30 times for 208 yards and two TDs in 38-34 win over Bath.
Connected with receiver Grady Kleman-Beazley as time expired for 55-yard
game-winning score.

FootballSophomore completed 25-of-40 passes for 438
yards and five TDs in a 45-14 win over Northview. Has thrown for 1,176
yards and nine TDs this season.

SoccerSenior ran his string of hat tricks to four
with three goals and two assists in a 6-0 win over Lucasville Valley and
four goals in a 7-1 win over Fairland. Has 20 goals and six assists in
seven games.

ranks No. 1 in Ohio in points (72) and goals (30). Had five goals and
an assist in an 8-0 win over Liberty Center and three goals and two
assists in an 11-0 win over Swanton.

SoccerSenior had six goals and three assists in a
12-3 win over Lorain and four goals and two assists in 7-0 win over
Brookside. Has 20 goals, 14 assists and 54 points this season.

SoccerJunior goalkeeper became the second girl in
SWBL history and 43rd girl in state history to surpass 500 career saves
with 13 in a 1-1 tie against Lakota East. Followed that with
back-to-back shutouts in wins over Edgewood and Miamisburg. Her 508
career saves currently ranks 41st in Ohio
history.
* Peyton Jackson, Fairland (Proctorville)
FootballSenior completed 14-of-22 passes for 363
yards and five TDs in a 40-35 win over Gallia Academy. Has thrown for
1,354 yards and 18 TDs this season.

SoccerSenior had seven goals and three assists in a
15-0 win over Lakeside and five goals and an assist in a 13-1 win over
Conneaut. Has 26 goals and eight assists this
season.

VolleyballJunior had 61 assists in a 3-2 loss to
Fort Frye and 40 in a 3-0 win over Gallia Academy. She has 543 assists
this season and went over 1,000-career assists and 400-career digs
earlier this year.

VolleyballSenior had 26, 23 and 22 kills last week
in matches against Logan, Vinton County and River Valley. She has 309
kills this season (ranks 16th in Ohio) and 1,071 for her career.

SoccerSenior had five goals and an assist in a 6-3
win over Wellington. Has 25 goals, six assists and 56 points this
season.

SoccerJunior had seven goals and six assists in a
17-3 win over Garfield Heights. His 32 assists and 90 points, rank sixth
and 20th nationally. His 29 goals rank

FootballSenior carried the ball 21 times for 277
yards and four TDs I a 38-20 win over Chesapeake.
* Kendall Hanlon and Natalie Rice, Western Brown (Mt. Orab) Girls
SoccerHanlon, a freshman, had eight goals and three
assists in a 17-0 win over Wilmington. Rice, a senior, had six goals and
two assists. Hanlon has 22 goals and 11 assists this season, while Rice
has 20 and 10, respectively.

SoccerSenior had six goals and two assists in an 8-0
win over Mathews. Has 26 goals and 12 assists this season.
