University of Texas coach Steve Sarkisian got a preview of the future in Austin as
Landen Williams-Callis of
Randle (Richmond, Texas) accounted for six scores in a 78-0 win over
South Houston on Thursday.
Williams-Callis ran for 327 yards and five touchdowns as Sarkisian watched on. He added a 26-yard passing touchdown right before half.
Thursday's performance put Williams-Callis over the 1,100-yard mark for the season as he chases the state career rushing mark of 11,382 established last year by
Keagan Ash of
Mt. Enterprise.

Williams-Callis kept it going in the second half, scoring on the first play from scrimmage on a 43-yard run and finished with a 25-yard TD run. He didn't play in the running-clock fourth quarter.
The Randle senior is 2,662 yards shy of Ash with five regular-season games remaining and playoffs. The Lions went 15-1 last year, reaching the Conference 5A Division 2 title game one season after winning the title.
The future Longhorn also sits at 142 career rushing touchdowns.
Randle has been piling up points this season, averaging 52.2 points per contest. Since a 3-0 win Sept. 3, the Lions have scored 69, 91 and 78 points. Next up is
Iowa Colony on Oct. 9.
