The senior running back, who transferred in the offseason from Sherwood, exploded for more than 428 yards and seven touchdowns in Lake Oswego's 56-46 victory over
Skyline (Sammamish, Wash.), according to the Seattle Times' Mason Kelley.
A 36-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter kicked off Long's big night. He had 207 yards and three touchdowns at the half as Lake Oswego led 28-24. Long continued to pour it on in the second half, with four more scores - three of which were runs longer than 70 yards - as Lake Oswego scored a big out-of-state victory.
Long was a second-team All-State selection in Oregon's Class 5A last season. He led Sherwood to a 13-0 season and rushed for 231 yards and two scores in the state-final win over Marist.
The victory for Lake Oswego avenges a 38-14 loss at the hands of Skyline a year ago. In three games, Lake Oswego has averaged more than 46 points.
