Video: California Top 25 football rankings
Norco enters The Top 25 right before visiting No. 4 Centennial.
Lopsided scores were the call for the week in the MaxPreps California Top 25 high school football rankings.
The average margin of victory for the Top 10 teams was 45 points, with three teams winning by at least 50 and two by more than 60.
The most impressive one-sided scores were right at the top as No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) defeated Servite 56-11 and second-ranked St. John Bosco (Bellflower) beat JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano) 48-10.
What made those wins so impressive is that Servite and JSerra last week were ranked 11th and ninth, respectively. JSerra dropped to 11th while Servite fell to 12th as the two face off Friday at Servite.
The lone Top 25 team to fall this week was No. 25 Chaparral (Temecula), which dropped a 37-17 decision to Vista Murrieta (Murrieta). Previously ranked Norco (6-1) replaced Chaparral, but will have a tough time keeping that spot as the Cougars play Friday at No. 4 Centennial (Corona).
The biggest rise in the rankings belongs to previous No. 13 Corona del Mar (7-0), which beat a very good Edison squad 42-7 to move to No. 10. Washington-bound quarterback
Ethan Garbers kept up his state Player of the Year hopes alive after throwing for 311 yards and four touchdowns, three going to Stanford-bound receiver
John Humphreys (9 catches, 170 yards).
Alemany (Mission Hills), the No. 19 team, had its Friday game with Loyola-Los Angeles cancelled due to the Saddleridge fire. The teams tried to find a makeup date over the weekend, but ultimately
it didn't get done.

Cathedral Catholic running back Zavien Watson (9) leads his team into big game with St. Augustine (San Diego) on Friday.
