Two rushing touchdowns by Timmy Smith in overtime lifted No. 9 Central Dauphin to a wild 35-34 double-overtime win at third-ranked and previously unbeaten Manheim Township Friday night to highlight a great night of playoffs.
Manheim Township (11-1) looked like it was in good shape thanks to big-play prowess of Anthony Ivey, who had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 65-yard touchdown reception from Harrison Kirk.
But in overtime, Central Dauphin (10-2) made both of its extra points and Manheim Township missed one to start the second overtime.
In other Pennsylvania playoff games involving ranked teams, 10th-ranked Harrisburg defeated No. 7 Wilson 33-29 in overtime, No. 11 Peters Township beat No. 20 Moon Area 33-7, No. 19 State College beat No. 18 McDowell 41-21 and non-ranked Pope John Paul II edged No. 22 Newman-Goretti 29-28.
