The 2021 high school football season in Oklahoma kicks off on Aug. 26 for some teams during Week Zero while the rest will begin on Sept. 2. Bixby, the three-time defending 6A-II champions, has won 36 consecutive games heading into the 2021 season and starts the year at No. 1 in the preseason rankings.
Replacing Mason Williams under center will be tough but they bring back a lot of talent headlined by Oklahoma State commit
Braylin Presley and recent Oklahoma pledge
Luke Hasz.
Presley was named the
2020 MaxPreps Oklahoma Player of the Year after racking up over 2,700 total yards and 35 touchdowns while leading the Spartans to an 11-0 record and third consecutive 6A-II state title. He has been a big-time playmaker since his freshman year and enters the season with 3,873 career rushing yards and 58 touchdowns. The three-star running back also has 89 career receptions for 1,019 yards and 16 scores.
The Spartans are among the first five teams out of the MaxPreps Top 25, checking in at No. 27.
Jenks, the defending 6A-I champs, begins the year at No. 2. The Trojans went 12-1 in 2020 with the only loss to Bixby, 42-35.
These two square off Sept. 3 in one of the biggest games of the year in Oklahoma.
Other defending state champs in the preseason MaxPreps Top 25 include Carl Albert (5A), Wagoner (4A), Holland Hall (3A) and Cashion (Class A).
