1. Miller Grove (Lithonia)
Head coach: Sharman White
2014-15 record: 27-4

Motivation shouldn't be a big issue for White, who doesn't need to remind his Wolverines that their streak of six consecutive state championships came to an end last season. Miller Grove will be hungry to get back on top behind Connecticut commit Alterique Gilbert (5-11, Sr., G), transfer Aaron Augustin (5-11, Sr., G) and Raylon Richardson (6-5, Sr., G/F).

2. Pace Academy (Atlanta)
Head coach: Demetrius Jackson
2014-15 record: 27-3

Despite going 27-3 and reaching the AA quarterfinals a year ago, Pace Academy didn't finish in the Top 25 of the MaxPreps Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. So why all the optimism for 2015-16? It doesn't hurt having arguably the nation's top junior in Wendell Carter Jr (6-10, F/C), who legendary recruiting analyst Frank Burlison named his "2017 Player of the Summer" and is garnering plenty of No. 1 prospect buzz. And the Knights won't be a one-man show, as returners Zack Kaminsky (6-6, Sr., F) and Caleb Holifield (6-1, So., G) were regular double-digit contributors a year ago.

3. Jonesboro
Head coach: Daniel Maehlman
2014-15 record: 32-1

The state's defending AAAA state champions lost several key contributors due to graduation, but there is one big reason for optimism – junior star James Walker Jr. (6-5, G/F). The MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year averaged 17.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per outing last season to lead Jonesboro to its second state title in a row. Look for Jamari Smith (6-4, So., F) and Tariq Jenkins (6-0, Sr., G) to step up and fill the void left behind by seven seniors that contributed in 2014-15.

4. Greenforest (Decatur)
Head coach: Nick Lagroone
2014-15 record: 27-2

Getting past St. Francis has been a sticking point for Greenforest in Georgia's Class A the past couple of years, but the Eagles look ready to turn the tables in 2015-16. Five-star center prospect Ikey Obiagu (7-0, Jr.) – one of the nation's top shot blockers – leads a super-sized roster that will be tough to match.

5. Norcross
Head coach: Jesse McMillan
2014-15 record: 27-4

The Blue Devils won five state titles between 2006 and 2013. It's time to start thinking big again given the development of junior forwards Rayshaun Hammonds (6-8) and Lance Thomas (6-7). Both had big summers and will have plenty of attractive college offers to pick from.
