A pair of Elk Grove teams will meet in the finals of the inaugural Boras Classic as both Elk Grove and Pleasant Grove won their semifinal matchups Wednesday to advance to the championship game.
Elk Grove, the tournament host, shut down Stockdale 3-0 in one of the semifinal games, while Pleasant Grove held off Rio Americano 5-2 in the other semifinal.
The teams will play at 4 p.m. today at Sacramento State University.

Micheal Wright pitched a two-hitter for the Thundering Herd, who advanced to the championship game with a 3-0 win over Stockdale.
Wright finished with eight strikeouts and two walks in going all seven innings. His counterpart,
Zach Tanner, had a fair game himself, giving up three runs on four hits with five strikeouts and three walks in seven innings.
The game was only 1-0 until the top of the seventh when Elk Grove pushed two runs across.
Nick Madrigal drove in a run in the inning and then scored on a hit from
Carlos Moseley. Madrigal finished 2-for-3 with an RBI while
Dom Nunez had the game's best hit with a double.

The Eagles scored four runs in the second inning and added a run in the sixth to top the Raiders.
Matt Stafford doubled and
Beau Boyle singled during the four-run rally. Boyle finished with two RBIs.
Austin Friello and
Nick Doyich each had a double to join Stafford with the best hits of the game.
Brett Elgin went the distance for Pleasant Grove, allowing two runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and no walks.

Chandler Eden to lift Dougherty Valley to the win.
Farooq shut out the Honkers, giving up just two hits in seven innings. Eden 4-1/3 innings, allowing two runs on one hit with four strikeouts.
Brian Hsu led the Dougherty Valley offense, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Deer Valley (Antioch, Calif.) 5, Rocklin (Calif.) 4Deer Valley came from behind with four runs in the fifth to edge Rocklin.
Jordan Rohrberg-Gough was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Deer Valley offense while
Marcus Wise was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Tyler Vistalli went the distance to get the win, giving up four runs on three hits with five strikeouts.
Buchanan (Clovis, Calif.) 2, Rodriguez (Fairfield, Calif.) 1Jack Wheeless went the distance for the win, giving up one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts and a walk.
Colton Worthington went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored while
Kody Batesole was 3-for-3. Both Worthington and Batesole knocked doubles for the best hits of the game.
Jacob Booker and
Anthony Kaleczyc each had two hits for Rodriguez.

The Trojans erupted for nine runs in the first inning and cruised past Excel Academy in a consolation bracket game.
Scott Nunnery was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs while
Luke Huerta was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
Josh Khan also had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a double.
Pioneer (Woodland, Calif.) 3, Foothill (Palo Cedro, Calif.) 2After 30 straight wins, Foothill dropped its third straight game in falling to Pioneer.
Thomas Galart limited Foothill to two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings.

Robert Daugherty paced the Pioneer offense with two hits apiece, with Daugherty rapping a triple.
Del Oro (Loomis, Calif.) 8, Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) 5Del Oro rallied for five runs in the top of the sixth to edge the Trojans.
The Golden Eagles had four hits in the big inning and took advantage of a pair of bases-loaded walks.
