Austin's Westlake High School features two starting quarterbacks in NFL Playoffs

The NFL Playoffs begin Saturday with an AFC Wild Card showdown between the Tennessee Titans and host Kansas City Chiefs (3:35 p.m. CST, ESPN).

Surveying the 12-team field, one of the interesting sidebars is two of the starting quarterbacks – Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints and Nick Foles of the Philadelphia Eagles – hailing from the same Texas high school.

Perennial power Westlake (Austin) also produced University of Texas signal caller Sam Ehlinger, who is coming off a promising freshman campaign with the Longhorns.

Westlake is still rolling without any of those big name quarterbacks, going 14-1 and reaching the Class 6A Division II state semifinals in 2017.

Junior Taylor Anderson is keeping the tradition under center alive for the Chaparrals, piling up 4,010 totals yards and 44 touchdowns.
