Twelve ranked teams are featured in this week's action.
Last
week was loaded with big-time games and things get better this week. Twelve ranked teams and three Top
25 matchups are featured led by Thursday's meeting of No. 4 North Shore (Houston) hosting Katy (Texas) on
ESPNU.
The three games with
ranked teams playing each other pit No. 15 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) in Hawaii to face No. 10 St. Louis (Honolulu) in the
inaugural Aloha Football Classic. No. 25 Northwestern (Miami), the newest team to the Top 25, takes on No. 16 Carol City (Fla.) and No. 17
Marietta (Ga.) hosts No. 8 St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) in the other
two Top 25 matchups.
The other games
feature a couple of Southern California vs. New Jersey games, a huge
Ohio matchup, a Texas showdown, while American Heritage (Plantation, Fla.)
travels to the DMV area to face No. 13 Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) and
No. 9 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) hosts Bergen
Catholic (Oradell, N.J.).

Texas
high school football is back and one of the best games of the year is
going down on Thursday night. These two meet for
the 10th time since 2008 and Katy holds the slight edge winning five of
the previous nine, but the Mustangs swept the two-game set last season.
Some of the best talent in the state will be on display and
this is a game you do not want to miss.

Both
teams bring in double-digit winning streaks as the Gaels have won 11
straight and the Hawaii power has reeled off 28 in a row. This will be a
big-time test for both teams and it's the first meeting since 2012 when
Anu Solomon led Bishop Gorman to a 52-40 win.

ESPNU
hosts two big-time games on back-to-back nights and this is one of six out of
state matchups featured in the Top 10 Games of the Week. Marietta looked
impressive in its season opener handing Rome its first home loss since 2015, winning 48-14, but face an even bigger test this week against
one of the most talented teams in the country. St. Joe's went 13-0 and won the 6A state title last year and return
key players from 2018 led by McCord and Harrison Jr.

Things
don't get easier for St. Thomas Aquinas. A week after traveling to
Northern California and beating De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) 24-14 the Raiders
host one of New Jersey's best. Bergen Catholic is battling injuries and there is a chance we see 2022 quarterback
Steven Angeli start because
Andrew Boel
might not be 100 percent by Saturday. Angeli is one of the best players from
the Class of 2022 and already has an offer from Ohio State.

This game features two of the Sunshine State's best and the field will be littered with talent. Northwestern entered the Top 25 this week after handing Cardinal Gibbons (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) its first shutout loss since 2014 last week with a 32-0 win. Carol City beat a very talented Deerfield Beach (Fla.) team 24-12 on ESPNU last Saturday.

The No. 13 team in the country opens the year against a Florida power. The D.C. power won the WCAC championship in 2018 and has the talent to repeat this year with 5-star quarterback Williams under center. The Patriots rolled 49-10 over Monsignor Pace (Miami) in their season opener and a name to keep tabs on this year is Fletcher, the freshman running back. The Class of 2023 prospect already has offers from Alabama, Miami, Georgia and a handful of other Power 5 conferences.

The second feature game from the Lone Star State is between two of the state's best programs. Cedar Hill has won three state titles since 2006 and Allen has made it to the state semifinals seven straight years. The Eagles have also won five state championships since 2008. 2020 SMU commit Sharpe gets the keys to the car at the quarterback position and he has already drawn the nickname "Little Kyler" for his playmaking abilities.

After beating DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) 35-7 last week the Braves get a second-straight out-of-state opponent. Uiagalelei finished with over 300 yards passing and two touchdowns last week and the defense was lights out led by Williams,
Jon Jon Vaughns,
Ma'a Gaoteote and
Kobe Pepe. If the Ironmen want to pull off the upset they are going to need a monster night from Berger and Monangai.

The Honor Bowl will be one of the top showcases this week. Another game that just missed the cut for the Top 10 Games of the Week features a very talented
Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.) team, sitting just outside the Top 25, taking on
Cathedral Catholic (San Diego). JSerra Catholic opened the year with a 24-14 win over East (Utah) thanks to a big showing from Street rushing for over 100 yards and two scores. St. Joseph Regional has the talent to repeat as Non-Public Group IV champs and opens the year against one of the top teams from Southern California.

Two of the Buckeye State's best clash as St. Edward won the Division 1 state title in 2018 and looks to make a statement to open this season against Mentor. Steve Trivisonno announced after last season his 23rd year will be his final as head coach so expect the Cardinals to go all out in 2019 especially with a lot of talent coming back led by Kipp.
