The big man on the
Lakeview Centennial (Garland, Texas) campus is 6-foot-10, 260 pound
Elbert Robinson.
The Patriots center has been listed as big as 7-foot-1, 335 pounds by different sources. All in all, the lefty from Garland, Texas takes up space on the basketball court, creating problems for the opposition on both sides of the ball.

"Elbert Robinson is a rarity in high school and college," LSU coach Johnny Jones
told The Times-Picayune. "He is a true center. With his height and strength he will certainly make an impact for us in the paint on both ends of the floor, offensively and defensively."
Coach Jones has shown this year with
Jordan Mickey and
Jarell Martin that he is not afraid to trust true freshmen. If junior
Johnny O'Bryant III opts for the NBA, then Robinson could impact the Tigers' frontcourt immediately.
That sort of leadership role is one Robinson says he has grown into.
"I work pretty hard trying to get the guys going every night, every day," said Robinson. "Do what I have to do do win."
While his leadership role has grown, so have his stats. As a sophomore at Lakeview Centennial, Robinson averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds. Last year as a junior, he improved to 14 points, 12.5 rebounds and six blocked shots per game, as his team went 28-8 and shared a district championship.
Robinson and his Lakeview Centennial teammates' season is complete
after losing to
Allen (Texas) 58-35 in the Region II quarterfinals. The Patriots finished with a 23-8 overall record.
Robinson is ranked the No. 57 overall recruit by
247sports, and the sixth-best center prospect. He attended the NBA Top 100 camp in June and the LeBron James Skills Academy in July.
