With certain pockets of the state yet to take the field due to the ongoing pandemic and others experiencing starts and stops, it's good to find a little consistency in the Pennsylvania high school landscape. And it doesn't get much more consistent than Southern Columbia Area, which rattled off its 50th consecutive win and 83 straight regular season victory Friday.
The Tigers – who check in at No. 12 in this week's Pennsylvania high school football rankings – beat Warrior Run (Turbotville) 67-0 and have outscored opponents in two outings this season 108-0. Southern Columbia Area hasn't lost since 2016 and hasn't experienced a setback in the regular season since 2011.
Friday's biggest game should have been No. 2 Pine-Richland taking on No. 6 Gateway, but students testing positive for COVID-19 at Gateway led to that showdown being canceled.
Meanwhile, No. 3 Central Dauphin took the field for the first time Friday and looked the part of top five power, thrashing Chambersburg 62-10. Timmy Smith found the end zone four times for the Rams in the victory.
