No new team entered the Composite Top 25 as playoffs began in California. No. 1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) rolled in its opener and appears to be on a collision course with No. 2 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) in the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs.
No. 6 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) ended its season and rolled to a 48-7 win over Hoover (Ala.) as Trey Sanders and Noah Cain had monster games.
Only schools recognized by two or more media outlets are eligible for
inclusion in the composite rankings. Teams were assigned a score of 40
for each media outlet that did not recognize them as part of their Top
25, rewarding teams that received consensus acclaim.
