Stephon Tuitt has committed to Georgia Tech University, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which added that he is believed to be the highest-ranked recruit ever landed by the Yellow Jackets.
Tuitt, who is a 6-foot-5, 260-pound senior defensive end from Monroe Area (Monroe, Ga.), is the nation's No. 77 player on
CBS/MaxPreps recruiting analyst Tom Lemming's Top 100.
Tuitt had committed to Notre Dame in mid-September, but a recent flurry of defensive commitments to the Fighting Irish may have prompted the switch. He is Tech's 22nd commitment and fourth in the last three days.
He told the Atlanta newspaper, "I feel like Tech is building a great football team and I'm glad to be a part of it."
