No. 21
Washington (Massillon, Ohio) improved to 7-0 with a 28-7 win over
St. John's (Washington, D.C.) in a game that was called with 6:45 remaining at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. Both head coaches agreed to call the game after the Cadets quarterback
Isaiah French took a big hit on a run. It was the 10th straight win for the Tigers against out-of-state competition.
Massillon Washington's starting quarterback
DaOne Owens returned after missing last week's 41-7 win over Middletown (Del.) as the OHSAA was working through his transfer application. He was ruled eligible hours before kickoff and accounted for two touchdowns. After St. John's scored the first touchdown of the night, the Tigers answered with 28 consecutive points.
Willie Gaston has led No. 7
North Shore (Houston) to a 5-0 start as the new head coach of the Mustangs. They handed
King (Houston) its first loss of the season with a 42-6 win. The Houston power has outscored the opposition 227-39.
