1. Bedford
2012-13 finish: 20-2 (Division 1 state champions)
Head coach: Sue Thomas

Forward Haley Driscoll, a first-team all-state player last season, will lead a deep Bulldogs team that captured the Division 1 state title last season on her game-winning layup with six seconds remaining. Bedford also returns 6-1 center Mckenzie Brown and 5-8 guard Rachel Collins.

2. Bishop Guertin (Nashua)
2012-13 finish: 19-2
Head coach: Jeremy Faulkner

It will be Faulkner’s first year as the head coach of the Cardinals after leading Division 2 Southegan the past three seasons, two years of which he won state titles. He takes over a program that is rebuilding despite returning state Gatorade Player of the Year Jamie Sherburne, who averaged more than 10 points per game.

3. Nashua North
2012-13 finish: 18-6
Head coach: Ricky Oliver

Taylor Choate, a junior, comes back to help lead the Titans on another attempt at a Division 1 title. North came up short after losing 73-55 to Londonderry. But they will have reserves with sophomore Sara Cordova, who came off the bench last season.

4. Londonderry
2012-13 finish: 16-5
Head coach: John Fagula

Aliza Simpson, a Division 1 all-state second team selection last season, is back for the Lancers, as is Casey Evans, a junior, who was named honorable mention. That’ll be enough talent for Londonberry and legendary coach John Fagula to push the Lancers deep into the Division 1 playoffs again.

5. Pinkerton (Derry)
2012-13 finish: 17-3
Head coach: John Barry

The Astros lost only one senior from last season on a team that fell in the first round of the NHIAA Division 1 playoffs. Their strength is their depth, with no one discernible star. However Val Martin was named to the Division 1 all-state honorable mention.
