St. Mary's Prep (Orchard Lake, Mich.) is off to a late start, which is usually the case for teams in Michigan, but the Eaglets are making up for lost time. In building a 6-0 record, St. Mary's Prep has outscored opponents 90-4 in six games to move up to No. 13 in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school baseball rankings.
Alex Mooney has been the catalyst for the Eaglets. Ranked as one of the top infielders heading into the 2021 MLB Draft, Mooney is batting .611 with 17 RBI, four doubles, a triple and five home runs, including two grand slams. Three of his home runs came in one game. As a team, the Eaglets have hit a grand slam in four consecutive games.
Four teams joined the rankings this week with Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.) moving in after a win over previous No. 9 Auburn (Ala.) Undefeated Seymour (Tenn.), Pioneer (Mission, Texas) and Bryant (Ark.) also joined the list.

Player of the Week: Elijah Green, IMG Academy. The top-ranked player in the Class of 2022 by Perfect Game, Green had a double, a triple and two home runs in last week's action for the Ascenders.
Recruit
Watch: Alex Mooney, St. Mary Prep. One of the top infielders in the senior class, Mooney had a huge doubleheader against Portage Northern. He went 6-for-9 with four home runs (three in one game), 13 RBI and two grand slams.
Game to Watch: Carrollton vs. Auburn. Carrollton replaced Auburn at No. 9 in this week's rankings after Auburn lost to Hewitt-Trussville and dropped to No. 19. The matchup is the only game this week matching ranked teams.
