The high school football season in Washington D.C. came to a close recently. St. John's was among the victors with a 30-14 win over Our Lady of Good Counsel in the WCAC title game. That victory helped propel the Cadets to the No. 1 ranking in the final District of Columbia MaxPreps Top 25.
After missing the 2021 season, the St. John's players were eager to return to the field and did so with a purpose ... the first WCAC title since 2017. The Cadets were led by state Player of the Year
Jamar Curtis, who ran for more than 1,000 yards on the season as well as quarterback
Wyatt Hagan and receivers
Sean Williams and
D.J. Linkins.
The Cadets won eight games by more than two scores en route to the unblemished season and No. 21 rank in the MaxPreps Top 25.
In the District of Columbia State Athletic Association Class AA finals, Archbishop Carroll needed overtime to come away with a 35-27 win over Roosevelt.
Elijah Jordan Solomon ran for 135 yards and one score while
