Michael Dingilian: Player of the Week April 17 - 23

Accumulating home runs and shutouts by the same player are unusual and rare stats in high school baseball. Having three memorable games in one week is another special accomplishment. Player of the week, 6'3 190 pound right hand pitcher Michael Dingilian, has done both of these things. He first improved his record to 6-0 as a pitcher, by shutting out Loyola HS of Los Angeles. This allowed the Eagles to win 2-0.

He had an outstanding, 10 strikeouts in 7 innings to help his team move to an overall record of 10-4. Then, on April 18th, the Chaminade (West Hills, Calif.) Eagles faced the Valley Christian baseball team (San Jose, CA) at the Hard 90 National Classic in Anaheim. They beat the #87 ranked team in California, 4-1. Instead of pitching in this game, Dingilian dominated the offensive side of the ball and hit a solo home run which connecting on his only at bat.

Finally, Dingilian pitched against Clovis West of Fresno, CA and had a solid outing with six strikeouts and helping his team win 7-3. Not only that, but currently, Dingilian boasts an impressive ERA of 1.15. A multi-talented player, his batting average is also a solid .373.

Currently undefeated as a pitcher, he also looks to help his team win the Mission League title for the first time as the Eagles are in first place with an 8-2 record.

Dingilian is one of the most valuable players on his team and is also the reigning player of the week for the week of April 3-9.
He is an experienced player who has been on the varsity team for three years and can help his team win a CIF championship. He is having a great senior year. Dingilian looks to continue his career at Cal Poly, a Division 1 baseball program. If you happen to catch a Chaminade Eagles baseball game, look out for #6 Michael Dingilian.
