Excelling in high school softball can be difficult. Even more so carrying a famous last name as the daughter, granddaughter or niece of a current or former professional athlete.
But these current players have found a way to make their own name with impressive stat lines, championships and national rankings.

Mother: Sarah Fekete Bailey. Current Alcoa head coach was an All-American at Tennessee with a career .398 batting average.
Daughter: Junior Tennessee commit is batting .579 for the No. 3 team in the state.
Ada Blanton, St. Helena (Calif.)
Father: Joe Blanton. First round pick in 2002 won 101 games across 13 MLB seasons. Won a World Series ring in 2008 with Philadelphia.
Daughter: Contributes in all facets of the game with a .371 batting average and 2.87 ERA for the Saints.
Aspen Boulware, Gray Collegiate Academy (West Columbia, S.C.)
Father: Michael Boulware. Four-year NFL veteran who had an interception for the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL.
Daughter: Five-star South Carolina signee has the War Eagles ranked No. 7 in the MaxPreps Top 25. She has a career batting average of .581 with 58 home runs.
Kenley Butler, Idaho Falls (Idaho)
Father: Billy Butler. First round pick in 2004 hit 147 home runs from 2007-16.
Daughter: Northern Colorado commit is batting .474 as a junior for the Tigers.
Father: Demetrius Crawford. Former professional football player.
Daughter: One of the top freshman in the nation is hitting .447 with four home runs for the No. 5 team in Nevada.
Avery Gehrke, Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
Father: Jay Gehrke. Drafted in the first round by Kansas City in the 1999 MLB Draft and pitched three years in the minor leagues.
Daughter: Senior Penn State signee is batting .636 as a senior for the No. 19 team in the MaxPreps Top 25.
Michaela Hamilton, Grapevine Faith Christian (Grapevine, Texas)
Father: Josh Hamilton. The 1999 No. 1 overall pick was a five-time All-Star and won the AL MVP in 2010. Had a home run in the 2010 and 2011 World Series.
Daughter: Northwestern State commit is batting .490 as a junior this season. She started 2026 by recording a hit in her first 11 games.
Kailey Harang, Santa Fe Christian (Solana Beach, Calif.)
Father: Aaron Harang. Picked up 128 career wins, including a National League-leading 16 in 2006.
Daughter: Freshman has scored three runs and recorded one hit in five games this season while her father is head coach.
Rylee Kobasew, Chaparral (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
Father: Chuck Kobasew. An 11-year NHL veteran who tallied 110 goals in his career. Played in all seven games of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals for the Calgary Flames.
Daughter: Four-star sophomore batted .442 while winning five games in 2025.
Emerson Lechler, Foster (Richmond, Texas)
Father: Shane Lechler. 18-year NBA veteran was selected to the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. He led the NFL in punting yards four times with the Raiders.
Daughter: The Baylor signee bats .531 with 20 home runs as a senior for the Falcons.
Malaya Majam-Finch, Fullerton (Calif.)
Aunt: Jennie Finch. Two-time Olympic medalist and one of the greatest softball players in history.
Niece: Oklahoma signee has 12 home runs in her career along with 19 wins in the circle for the No. 13 team in MaxPreps Top 25.
Maddie McDermott, Providence Day (Charlotte, N.C.)
Father: Sean McDermott. Won 98 regular season games and eight playoff contests as head coach of the Bills from 2017-25.
Daughter: North Carolina commit is batting .367 as a junior for the Chargers.
Sariah McNabb, Xavier College Prep (Phoenix, Ariz.)
Father: Donovan McNabb. Played quarterback in the NFL for 13 years after being drafted second overall in 1999.
Daughter: Junior is committed to Indiana and has a .404 batting average in three varsity seasons with seven home runs.
Jayden Nelson, Agnes Irwin (Rosemont, Pa.)
Father: Jameer Nelson. First-round pick in 2004 played 14 years in the NBA and was an All-Star in 2009.
Daughter: The junior Ole Miss commit has recorded a hit in her first eight at-bats in 2026. She also plays basketball.
Father: Ben Petrick. The backstop hit 27 home runs across five MLB seasons with Colorado and Detroit.
Daughter: Senior Liberty signee is hitting .606 as a senior for the No. 5 team in Oregon.
Ella Reynolds, Montclair (N.J.)
Father: Harold Reynolds. 12-year MLB veteran and reached a pair of All-Star games. In 1987 he led the American League with 60 stolen bases.
Daughter: Oregon pledge has hit .357 in her career for the Mounties. The junior has 36 career extra-base knocks.
Austyn Sadler, Brunswick Academy (Lawrenceville, Va.)
Father: Elliott Sadler. Veteran of 438 NASCAR races between 1998-2017 with three wins.
Daughter: Is on varsity as an eighth grader and has scored four runs.
Finley Suppan, Chaminade (West Hills, Calif.)
Father: Jeff Suppan. MLB pitcher for 17 years who was named MVP of the 2006 NLCS.
Daughter: Sophomore is starring in Southern California with a .439 batting average and 10 wins with her arm.
Avery Tucker, Wesleyan (Norcross, Ga.)
Grandfather: Jim Harrison. Eight-year NHL veteran who played with Wayne Gretzky in 1979, his final season.
Granddaughter: Ole Miss signee hit over .400 in her final three seasons and stole 115 bases.
Maddie Watson, Oak Forest Academy (Amite, La.)
Mother: Jamie Lynn Spears.
The younger sister of Britney Spears starred in Zoey 101 on Nickelodeon
starting when she was 13.
Daughter: Senior headed to Southern Mississippi has hit .306
in her career with 16 RBI. Smith missed her senior season with an
injury.
Father: Jemile Weeks. Played six MLB seasons after being a 2008 first-round pick.
Daughter: Batting .328 as a sophomore for the Titans. Can also deliver in the circle with two wins this season.
