Video: Recap - Bentonville vs. Fayetteville 2016
See the Tigers, Arkansas' most dominant program, in action.
The top four football programs on this list have shown annually they will be in the thick of things. With 20 state titles between them, all can be proud of those accomplishments. But Bentonville stands out as the top dog in Arkansas since MaxPreps became America's source for high school sports in 2006.
The Tigers own five titles (Pulaski Academy bests that with six), but Bentonville has finished outside the top five in the rankings once in 11 seasons — and that was 2006. Since that time, the Tigers have finished No. 1 an incredible six times, including five in a row.
Here is how the points break down:
1. 20 for a state title
2. 10 for a state championship game appearance
3.
Other points are based on where a team finished in the final
MaxPreps Arkansas Football Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. For example, if a team finished No. 1 overall, it would receive
25 points. If it finished 25th overall, the team would get one point. No
points are awarded if the team did not finish in the Top 25.
