Owner of the longest streak in New York high school football history,
Garden City
will begin the 2026 season with the nation's longest active win streak at 66 games in a row.
Winners of five straight Long Island Division II championships while going 12-0 each season, the Trojans also went 6-0 during the shortened COVID season of 2020 for 66 in a row. Garden City surpassed the state record of 62, previously held by
Maine-Endwell (Endwell)
from 2011-15.
Garden City takes over ownership of the nation's longest win streak from
Marion Local (Maria Stein, Ohio)
, which had a streak of 76 wins end with a loss to
St. Henry
in Ohio's Division VII playoffs. The Flyers' streak broke the state record in Ohio and is the fifth-longest in high school football history.

Garden City is 10 games ahead of
Sheridan (Wyo.)
, which has 56 in a row. The Broncs have won five straight Class 4A championships.
Carl Albert (Midwest City, Okla.)
also went over 50 wins at 53 in a row with four straight Class 5A championships. The Titans are just five wins from tying
Bixby
for the state record of 58, which the Spartans established from 2018-22.
