Wisconsin high school football: Top 10 Week 3 matchups

Week 3 of the Wisconsin high school football season is here and we are putting the spotlight on the biggest games.

Both Arrowhead (Division 1) and Catholic Memorial (Division 3) are expected to contend for state titles. Arrowhead has outscored its opponents 70-14 through two weeks. In the Warhawks’ 35-7 win over Neenah, Jebari Craig rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries, while Devin Nettles added 94 yards and a score on 10 carries. Arrowhead also had success through the air as Drake commit Nolan Hanson completed 11 of 15 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown. Logan Crowley caught six passes for 97 yards. Catholic Memorial has opened the season with two dominant performances, outscoring its opponents 93-7, including a 55-7 win over Sun Prairie West on Friday. Wisconsin commit Isaac Miller leads the Crusaders’ defense, while South Dakota State commit Devon Williams headlines the offense.

Indian Trail (2-0) at Kenosha Bradford (1-1)

Kenosha Bradford is coming off a 31-30 overtime loss to Marquette. Quarterback Nolberto Rosales completed 17 of 34 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns while Larenzz Pratt caught seven passes for 126 yards. Gahari Barnes led Bradford’s rushing attack with 126 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Indian Trail edged Middleton 24-23 in Week 2 as quarterback Joel Perez completed 13 of 16 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns. Nolen Quiroz was his top target, catching five passes for 80 yards and a score.

No. 9 Oconomowoc (2-0) at No. 4 Hamilton (2-0)
Friday, 7 p.m. – Tickets via GoFan

Hamilton posted a 52-32 win over Racine Case last week as quarterback Cole Erdmann accounted for four touchdowns. He completed 20 of 26 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 58 yards and two more scores on 15 carries. Alex Restivo led the Chargers with eight catches for 137 yards while Drew Olsson added seven catches for 62 yards. Both scored touchdowns. Oconomowoc has outscored its opponents 71-14, including a 30-14 win over Verona last week. Quarterback Austin Munzel completed 10 of 14 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 41 yards and another score. Damian Bartolotta led the Raccoons’ rushing attack with 126 yards on 19 carries.

No. 5 West De Pere (2-0) at No. 14 De Pere (2-0)
Friday, 7 p.m. – Tickets via GoFan

Crosstown rivals meet in an FRCC North showdown. West De Pere defeated Appleton North 35-7 last week behind quarterback Andrew Greisen and running back Cooper Schabo. Greisen completed 16 of 25 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown while Schabo rushed for 172 yards and two scores on 21 carries. In De Pere’s 38-19 win over Fond du Lac, quarterback Ryland Nowak completed 10 of 12 passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Max Goebel caught five passes for 105 yards and two scores.

No. 22 Kaukauna (1-1) at No. 7 Kimberly (0-2) 
Friday, 7 p.m. 

Kimberly and Kaukauna meet in the Fox Valley Association opener for both teams after going a combined 1-3 in non-conference play. Kimberly lost to two strong Division 1 programs, Hamilton (27-12) and Bay Port (28-13), while Kaukauna fell 35-28 to Notre Dame. Kimberly quarterback Maddux Hermus passed for 100 yards and rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns last week. In Kaukauna’s loss, quarterback Ryan Carrel passed for 208 yards and two touchdowns and added 62 rushing yards and two more scores.

No. 24 Sun Prairie East (1-1) at No. 8 Waunakee (1-1) 
Friday, 7 p.m. – Tickets via GoFan

Waunakee routed Franklin 34-7 last week behind a defense that forced five turnovers. The Warriors meet Sun Prairie East in the Badger-Large Conference opener for both teams. Sun Prairie East cruised past Racine Horlick on Friday. Quarterback Braylon Peterson completed all five of his passes for 70 yards and rushed for 50 yards and three touchdowns on three carries.

Manitowoc Lincoln (0-2) at No. 10 Notre Dame Academy (2-0)
Friday, 7 p.m. – Tickets via GoFan

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Wisconsin commit Kingston Allen leads the nation with 911 rushing yards and ranks among the national leaders with 12 rushing touchdowns. Last week, Allen rushed for 453 yards and five touchdowns on 46 carries in Notre Dame’s 35-28 win over Kaukauna.

Aquinas (2-0) at West Salem (2-0) 
Friday, 7 p.m. 

The top teams from the Coulee Conference meet to open the league schedule. Aquinas topped St. Croix Central 24-14 last week with quarterback Owen Ludlow completing 22 of 27 for 351 yards and four touchdowns. Henry Berns led the receiving corps with 10 catches for 242 yards and three scores. In West Salem’s 41-7 victory against Tomah, quarterback Drew McConkey threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns, and Kaden Langrehr led the rushing attack with 123 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries. 

Darlington (2-0) at Mineral Point (2-0)
Friday, 7 p.m. 

Darlington has outscored its opponents 70-0 through two games, including a 35-0 win over Lena-Winslow last week. In the victory, quarterback Zeke Zuberbuhler completed 7 of 10 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns. Mineral Point has played much closer games, including a 28-27 win over Platteville in Week 2. Quarterback Liam Carey passed for 137 yards and a touchdown and added a team-high 68 rushing yards and two scores.

Lodi (1-1) at Columbus (0-2)
Friday, 7 p.m. – Watch live on NFHS Network

Capitol Conference rivals meet in their league opener. Lodi lost 28-21 to Wrightstown last week while Columbus fell 21-12 to Greenfield. Quarterback Kale Schneider completed 18 of 33 passes for 321 yards and two touchdowns in Lodi’s loss. In Columbus’ loss to Greenfield, running back Bobby Tracy rushed for 183 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries.
