High school football is fast approaching as teams in Illinois are preparing to hit the field later this month.
Ahead of the 2023 season, we are highlighting the top 10 returning seniors in the state according to 247Sports.
The top-ranked player in the state is
Justin Scott of
Saint Ignatius College Prep (Chicago). The Ohio State pledge is regarded as the No. 21 overall prospect in the country and the No. 4 defensive lineman. the top-ranked player from the state, is ranked No. 21 overall in the nation and the No. 4 at defensive lineman. As a junior, the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder had 42 tackles, 13 tackles-for-loss and 4.5 sacks. Also playing guard, Scott helped pave the way for a running attack that averaged more than 300 yards per game.
