MaxPreps 2017 California Girls Basketball All-State Teams

Coming from a state that has produced legendary players like Lisa Leslie, Cheryl Miller, Candice Wiggins and Diana Taurasi, it is Bishop's (LaJolla) Destiny Littleton who stands alone as California's all-time leading scorer.

With a national best average of 42.7 points per game, Littleton scored 1,366 points on the season to give her a state record 4,300 points in her career. Her total also ranks No. 25 on the all-time national career scoring list.

Littleton also led Bishop's, a school with an enrollment of about 800 students, to a 30-4 record with a loss to Mission Hills in the finals of the San Diego Open Division playoffs and a loss to eventual state champion Clovis West in the second round of the CIF Open Division tournament.

Littleton eclipsed 50 points 12 times during the season with a high of 68. For her performance and accomplishments, Littleton has been named the MaxPreps California State Player of the Year.

The coach who knocked Bishop's out of the playoffs is the state Coach of the Year. Craig Campbell led Clovis West to  34-2 record and a win over Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) for the CIF Open Division championship. According to the Fresno Bee, Campbell has won 12 Tri-River Athletic Conference titles in his 12 years with the Eagles to go with eight section titles and a record of 298-73.

The all-state teams included an overall first, second and third team with 15 honorable mention selections. A first and second team was also selected, along with an MVP, for each division.
