The 2014 regular season for Texas high school football is complete. Now the focus shifts to the playoffs that culminate with 10 UIL state championship games on Dec. 18-20 at Arlington's AT&T Stadium.
A state championship requires a daunting six postseason wins. The journey begins this weekend with the round of bi-district playoff games.
The top four finishers from each district have been aligned based on enrollment into two divisions in the five classifications of 11-man football.
The breakdown for MaxPreps Texas Top 25 teams:
*Ten teams including two-time state champion Allen are among the 64 teams in Class 6A Division I. Allen, DeSoto, Trinity (Euless) and Martin (Arlington) are part of a loaded Region I bracket. Skyline (Dallas) is in Region II along with The Woodlands, Spring Westfield (Houston), Klein Collins (Spring), and Horn (Mesquite). Region III is represented by Pearland.
*Thirteen teams including 10-0 Manvel are bracketed in the 64-team Class 6A Division II. Carroll (Southlake) and 2013 state champions Cedar Hill and Guyer (Denton) are in Region I. In Region II, 10-0 Midway (Waco) is joined by Lake Travis (Austin), Atascocita (Humble) and Rockwall. Manvel tops the Region III list along with Katy and Langham Creek (Houston). Region IV boasts three San Antonio-area powers, Steele (Cibolo), Brennan (San Antonio) and Brandeis (San Antonio).
*Two teams in the Texas Top 25 are in the Class 5A Division I bracket, Aledo in Region I and Fort Bend Ridge Point (Missouri City) in Region III.
AT&T Stadium in Arlington will be the site of eight games this weekend: doubleheaders on Thursday and Friday evenings and four games on Saturday.

1. Allen 10-0 (1 last week)The Eagles increased their consecutive game winning streak to 37 with a 35-13 triumph over 1-9 Plano East (Plano). Texas A&M pledge
Kyler Murray threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns and added 131 rushing yards on 11 carries.
Jalen Guyton led the receiving corps with eight catches for 103 yards. The Eagles seek a possible third consecutive Division I state title in the largest classification beginning with a bi-district playoff against 6-4 Keller Central (Keller) set for 5 p.m. Saturday at AT&T Stadium.
2. Skyline (Dallas) 10-0 (2)Raiders coach Reginald Samples did his best to keep the score from getting out of hand in a 55-0 victory over 1-9 Sunset. Quarterback
K.C. Johnson threw only seven passes and no Raiders running back had more than six carries. The Skyline defense held Sunset to two first downs and a minus-21 total yards. The District 9-6A champion Raiders will meet 4-6 Lake Highlands (Dallas) in a Division I bi-district playoff set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dallas' Forester Field.
3. Manvel 10-0 (3)

William Lockett, a UCLA pledge, intercepted a two-point conversion pass with three minutes remaining to allow the Mavericks to hang on for a 35-33 victory over 9-1 Pearland for the District 22-6A title.
D'Eriq King threw for 202 yards and four touchdowns as well as rushing for 161 yards and a score.
Reggie Hemphill-Mapps had six catches for 91 yards and two scores. The Mavericks will face 5-5 West Brook (Beaumont) in a 6A Division II bi-district playoff set for 7 p.m. Friday at Baytown‘s Stallworth Stadium.
4. DeSoto 9-1 (4)Larry Nixon rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns in a 69-20 thumping of 3-7 Duncanville. DeSoto rushed for 437 yards while holding Duncanville to a minus-14 rushing. Sophomore
Jaylin Nelson ran for two touchdowns and threw for two, gaining 321 combined yards.
Kevin Thomas had eight catches for 103 yards and two scores. DeSoto draws 6-4 Coppell in a 6A Division I bi-district playoff set for 9 p.m. Thursday at AT&T Stadium.
5. Carroll (Southlake) 10-0 (5)The Dragons completed their seventh 10-0 regular season since 2002 with a 38-14 defeat of 1-9 L.D. Bell (Hurst).
Ryan Agnew threw for 189 yards and three touchdowns.
Lil' Jordan Humphrey rushed for 98 yards.
Parker Fentriss led receivers with five catches for 61 yards and a score. The Dragons face 7-3 Mansfield in a 6A Division II bi-district playoff 9 p.m. Friday at AT&T Stadium.
6. Katy 9-1 (6)The Tigers defense allowed only 111 yards and eight first downs in racking up their fifth shutout of the season in a 51-0 rout of 8-2 Cinco Ranch (Katy). Oklahoma commit
Rodney Anderson rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns as Katy secured the District 19-6A title.
Kyle Porter had 116 rushing yards and one score.
Garrett Doiron threw for 144 yards and three scores. The defense outscored Cinco Ranch's offense when
J.R. Blades returned an interception 52 yards for a touchdown. In a 6A Division II bi-district playoff, Katy will host 6-4 Westside (Houston) at 11 a.m. Saturday.
7. Pearland 9-1 (7) Sophomore
Davier Pinkston rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns, but the Oilers were stopped on their trick-play two-point conversion attempt with three minutes to go in a 35-33 loss to 10-0 Manvel.
Jake Blumrick threw for 166 yards and two touchdowns.
Isaiah Chaney had a 95-yard kickoff return for a score. The Oilers will face 8-2 Deer Park in a 6A Division I bi-district playoff set for 7 p.m. Friday at the University of Houston's TDECU Stadium.
8. Steele (Cibolo) (9-1) (8)Pass defense appears to be in playoff form. The Knights did not allow a completion and intercepted three of the four attempts by 3-7 Canyon (New Braunfels) in a 49-0 triumph.
Jubias Cloud made interception returns of 41 and 35 yards for touchdowns.
Jaylen Harris scored on a 70-yard punt return. On Thursday the District 25-6A champions will face 5-5 MacArthur (San Antonio) in a Division II bi-district playoff set for 7 p.m. Thursday at San Antonio's Alamo Stadium.
9. Trinity (Euless) 9-1 (9)The Trojans drew a rare open date in Week 11 and will begin the 6A Division I playoffs with an extra week of rest. Steve Lineweaver's team faces 5-5 South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie) in a bi-district playoff set for 8 p.m. Saturday at AT&T Stadium.
10. Brennan (San Antonio) 10-0 (10)The 30th straight regular season victory did not come easily. The Bears held off a late rally by 9-1 Brandeis (San Antonio) for a 21-17 triumph.
Devontre Warren rushed for 88 yards and a score.
Taveon Tollefree threw for 51 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 78 yards. The Bears face 7-3 King (Corpus Christi) in a 6A Division II bi-district playoff set for 7 p.m. Friday at Corpus Christi's Buccaneer Stadium.
11. The Woodlands 9-1 (11)Matt Bonaguidi threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 68 yards and another score in a 35-27 victory over 3-7 Kingwood (Houston).
Patrick Carr rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown.
A.J. Mason returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown. The champions of District 16-6A face 7-3 Klein Oak (Spring) in a Division I bi-district playoff set for 7 p.m. Friday at Klein Memorial Stadium.
12. Midway (Waco) 10-0 (12)University of Houston pledge
Ben Hicks threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns in a 43-0 victory over 2-8 Ellison (Killeen) to complete the Panthers' seventh consecutive district championship, this one in District 12-6A.
Eric Clayburn had a 46-yard scoring run and
Korey Chatman went 44 yards for another. The Panthers draw 5-5 Lee (Tyler) in a Division II bi-district playoff set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Baylor's McLane Stadium.
13. Cedar Hill 8-2 (13)

Justin McMillan's 8-yard touchdown pass to
Josh Stewart with no time remaining gave the Longhorns a 37-35 victory over 5-5 South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie).
Aca'cedric Ware, a Southern Cal commit, rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns. Cedar Hill, missing several starters because of injury, drove 51 yards in the final 1:50 for a win that allowed it to avoid 10-0 Carroll (Southlake) in the opening round of the playoffs. Instead the Horns will face 5-5 Heritage (Colleyville) in a 6A Division II bi-district playoff set for 2 p.m. Saturday at AT&T Stadium.
14. Westfield (Houston) 9-1 (14)The Mustangs tuned up for the start of another playoff trip by clobbering 2-8 Klein 51-0.
Rayquan Jones rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown.
Latevius Downs scored twice and
Dillon Sterling-Cole threw a scoring pass.
Bryce Cook returned a fumble 67 yards for the final points. After a perfect 7-0 run to the District 15-6A title, Westfield draws 3-7 College Park (The Woodlands) in a 6A Division II bi-district playoff set for 7 p.m. Friday at Spring's George Stadium.
15. Lake Travis (Austin) 9-1 (16)The Cavaliers completed a perfect 8-0 run to the District 14-6A title with a 69-6 rout of 2-8 Akins (Austin).
Abe Willows rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
Dominic Delira, an Iowa State pledge, threw for 278 yards.
Grant Foster had four catches for 130 yards.
Austin Hiller scored on a blocked punt. The Cavs host 4-6 Rouse (Leander) in a Division II bi-district playoff at 7 p.m. Thursday.
16. Brandeis (San Antonio) 9-1 (15)A late rally fell short in a 21-17 loss to 10-0 Brennan (San Antonio). The game between two unbeatens decided the District 27-6A title.
Paul Lozano threw for 172 yards and a score.
Peyton Hall had six catches for 118 yards and a touchdown. The Broncos face 9-1 Carroll (Corpus Christi) in a Division II bi-district playoff set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at San Antonio's Farris Stadium.
17. Langham Creek (Houston) 9-1 (17)Paul Watson broke open a close game with three touchdown passes in the third quarter and the Lobos coasted to a 37-7 victory over 2-8 Cypress Ridge (Houston). Watson threw for 277 yards.
Trelen Norton had five catches for 161 yards and two went for scores.
Toneil Carter rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns. The Lobos finished 9-0 in District 17-6A and will face 7-3 Memorial (Houston) in a Division II bi-district playoff set for 7 p.m. Friday at Cypress' Berry Center.
18. Klein Collins (Spring) 9-1 (18)Isreal Kirkwood rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-0 triumph over 1-9 Klein Forest (Houston).
Sheldon Hillsman rushed for 155 yards and a score.
Justin Pratt had 106 yards on only eight carries.
Collin Lester added two field goals. The Tigers face 7-3 Oak Ridge (Conroe) in a 6A Division I bi-district playoff set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at Shenandoah's Woodforest Bank Stadium.
19. Guyer (Denton) 9-1 (19)Shawn Robinson threw for 146 yards and rushed for 88 more in a 52-7 rout of 5-5 Ryan (Denton).
Anthony Taylor rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns while
Adam Scott had three catches for 116 yards and a score. The District 5-6A champions advance to the Division II bracket and will face 7-3 Plano in a bi-district playoff set for 11 a.m. Saturday at AT&T Stadium.
20. Atascocita (Humble) 9-1 (20)Coming off an open date on the final weekend of the regular season, the Eagles draw 7-3 Spring in a 6A Division II bi-district playoff set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Spring's George Stadium.
21. Aledo 9-1 (21)Toby Gray returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a quick lead and added two touchdown receptions of 42 and 56 yards from
Luke Bishop in a 63-28 rout of 4-6 Cleburne.
Isaiah Mallory added an 85-yard scoring run. The Bearcats, champions of District 8-5A, advance to the Division I playoffs, beginning with a bi-district encounter against 4-6 Trimble Tech (Fort Worth) set for 7 p.m. Thursday at Fort Worth's Chisholm Trail Stadium.
22. Rockwall 10-0 (22)Chris Warren carried 29 times for 212 yards and four touchdowns in a 63-33 thumping of 7-3 Garland.
Xavier Castille contributed 82 rushing yards and two touchdowns along with five catches for 145 yards and two more scores.
Matthew Jones threw for 284 yards and three scores. Up next for the District 11-6A champions is a Division II bi-district playoff against 7-3 Copperas Cove set for noon Saturday at Baylor's McLane Stadium.
23. Horn (Mesquite) 9-1 (23)

Jordan Shavers rushed for 153 yards and six touchdowns in a 49-34 triumph over 4-6 Lake Highlands (Dallas).
Chris Robison threw for 332 yards and a touchdown for the District 10-6A champions. The Jags advance to a Division I bi-district playoff against 7-3 MacArthur (Irving) set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at DeSoto's Eagle Stadium.
24. Ridge Point (Missouri City) 10-0 (24)Senior
Jesse Crebbe threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-7 romp over 5-5 Texas City.
Deante Ford had 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Cedric Horton rushed for 77 yards and a score.
Terry Petry added an 81-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The defense limited Texas City to 89 total yards and four first downs. Now that the District 23-5A title is secured, the Panthers face 9-1 Foster (Richmond) in a Division I bi-district playoff set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the University of Houston‘s TDECU Stadium.
25. Martin (Arlington) 8-2 (25)Nic Smith rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns in a 50-12 rout of 4-6 North Crowley.
Tre Brown threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns.
Tyler Wilson finished with four catches for 124 yards and two scores. After a 7-0 run to the District 4-6A title, the Warriors go West Texas to meet 5-5 Midland in a Division I bi-district playoff set for 7 p.m. Friday at Midland's Grande Communications Stadium.
