Top 50 Alabama high school football players from the Class of 2021

Of Alabama's top 50 players from the Class of 2021 according to 247Sports, 26 have committed to college, which is more than the top 50 from Florida (24) or California (23).

The University of Tennessee has attracted the most recruits with six followed by the Crimson Tide (three) and Auburn and Troy (two each).

The highest percentage of Alabama top 50 senior players are on the defensive side, with defensive linemen and defensive backs each claiming 10 players each, followed by running back (eight) and offensive linemen and athletes (five each).

6-foot | 172 pounds | CB | Undecided
Rated the No. 2 cornerback in the country and No. 22 recruit overall, McKinstry has earned 27 college offers and seems split between Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and LSU. The state's only 5-star recruit had 30 tackles, 12 pass breakups and six interceptions as a sophomore. Also one of the better basketball players in the state, McKinstry "has elite ball skills as a corner and would also be a top prospect as a receiver if he wanted," wrote 247Sports national writer Charles Power.

2. Dylan Brooks, Handley (Roanoke)
6-4 | 240 | DE | Tennessee
With 120 career tackles, 33 for loss including 16 sacks, Brooks is rated the No. 1 defensive end in the country and No. 36 recruit overall. "Projects as a multi-year starter at the Power Five level with the upside to be an early round NFL Draft pick," wrote Power.

3. Lee Hunter, Blount (Eight Mile)
6-5 | 292 | DT | Auburn
Rated 10 out of 10 for sheer strength, Hunter is the nation's No. 6 rated defensive tackle. He committed to Auburn over 20 other FBS offers. "Desired defensive line body type with big chest, broad shoulders, size and length," wrote 247Sports Director of Scouting Barton Simmons.

4. Armoni Goodwin, Hewitt-Trussville (Trussville)
5-8 | 190 | RB | Auburn
Rushed for 1,458 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore before playing just three games as a junior duo to a knee injury. He averaged 16.7 yards per carry and scored 10 TDs in those three games. "Compact runner with high-end speed as evidenced by his track times," Power wrote.

5. Jeremiah Williams, Ramsay (Birmingham)
6-3 | 224 | DE | Undecided
Backed up 72-tackle, 11-sack sophomore seasons with 70 more tackles and 14 sacks as a junior, helping him earn the No. 6 defensive end ranking in the nation. He has 23 offers with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and LSU as front-runners.

6. Deontae Lawson, Mobile Christian (Mobile)
6-3 | 217 | LB | Alabama
Had a whopping 144 tackles, seven sacks and three interceptions as a junior and has 233 career tackles and 13 sacks. Also a basketball player, Lawson picked the Tide over 28 other schools.

7. Jaylin White, Dothan
5-11 | 185 | RB | Undecided
Rushed for more than 900 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior. He appears to be leaning toward either Florida State or South Carolina. "Has open field instincts as a big-play threat," Simmons wrote. "Has a nose for the end zone around the goalline."

8. Ian Jackson, Prattville
6-1 | 210 | LB | Alabama
Had 91 tackles, 18 for loss including six sacks and three forced fumbles as a junior. "Could pass as a big safety but developmental upside could allow for future playing inside or outside linebacker," Simmons wrote.

9. Jordan Mosley, McGill-Toolen (Mobile)
6-0 | 190 | WR | Tennessee
A track standout who has run a 10.80-second 100-meter dash and 22.26 in the 200, Mosley also owns a 37-inch vertical jump. "Can run by cornerbacks on the outside and shows good ball skills and can win contested balls," Simmons wrote.

10. Tim Keenan III, Ramsay (Birmingham)
6-1 | 340 | DT | Undecided
Ranked 19th nationally at his position, Keenan had 50 tackles as a sophomore, 10 for loss, including five sacks. He forced three fumbles. Also played baseball for the Rams. Of his 18 offers, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss and South Carolina appear his favorites.

11. Kamari Lassiter, American Christian Academy (Tuscaloosa)

Ranked the 25th best corner in the country, Lassiter has 23 offers, including from his hometown Crimson Tide of Alabama. He's also considering Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Ole Miss, among others.

12. Malachi Bennett Fairfield

Had 45 catches for 821 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior, earning All-State honors by the Alabama Sportswriters Association. His uncle is former Vanderbilt standout and NFL wide receiver Earl Bennett. He has 18 offers, but Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and UAB appear as his favorites.

13. Christian Lewis, Pleasant Grove
6-3 | 190 | WR | Undecided
Had an productive junior season with 75 catches for 1,398 yards and 20 touchdowns. Also a standout basketball player, Lewis has a reported 39 offers, and appears to be leaning toward either Arkansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, South Carolina and Tennessee.

14. Jarris Williams, Blount (Eight Mile)
5-10 | 184 | RB | Troy
A 3-star standout and ranked the 40th best senior running back in the country, Williams picked Troy over Kentucky, Missouri, South Alabama and Tennessee, among others.

15. Cam Jeffery, American Christian Academy
6-0 | 195 | ATL | Undecided
With a 39-inch vertical jump and excellent speed, Jeffery has drawn much interest because of his sheer athleticism. Among the colleges he's considering are Memphis, Georgia Tech and Mississippi State.

16. Roc Taylor, Oxford

A first-team All-State wide receiver as junior, Taylor had 71 catches for 1,306 yards and 17 touchdowns.

17. Anquin Barnes, Lee (Montgomery)
6-5 | 299 | DT | Alabama
He had 55 tackles with 11 for loss, including six sacks as a junior, leading his team to a 7-3 record. He picked the Crimson Tide over Auburn and Florida, among others.

18. Christian Burkhalter, Spanish Fort

The three-star recruit had 92 tackles, 18 for loss, including eight sacks. He has 18 offers, but appears leaning toward Nebraska over such other schools as Georgia Tech, Ole Miss and Virginia.

Also a standout basketball player, Davenport has offers from Kansas, South Alabama, Southern Miss and Tulane, among others.

20. Trinity Bell, Albertville

On offense, Bell hauled in 26 passes for 415 yards and six touchdowns, while defensively he had 28 tackles, six for loss, with two sacks and two forced fumbles. He also has offers from Auburn, Florida, Illinois and Indiana. An intriguing prospect.

21. Riley Leonard, Fairhope
6-4 | 203 | ATH | Duke
Played quarterback for his team last season, completing 102-of-172 passes for 1,231 yards, while rushing 96 times for 499 more yards. Also a sought-after shooting guard in basketball, Leonard picked the Blue Devils over Nebraska, Syracuse and Southern Miss, among others.

22. Will Crowder, Gardendale
6-3 | 195 | QB | West Virginia
In his two seasons, he has completed 333-of-518 passes for 4,227 career yards and 28 touchdowns. Though blessed with good speed (4.7 in the 40), he's being recruited as a pro-style quarterback. He's ranked No. 22 in the nation.

23. Rod Orr, Gadsden City (Gadsden)

A former basketball player, Orr switched to football before his junior season. He has 16 college football offers, but appears to be leaning toward either Florida State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri or Ole Miss.

24. Jackson West, Lee (Huntsville)

His numbers were modest as a junior — 23 catches for 411 yards and two touchdowns — but with 4.7 speed and excellent size and hands, West earned a lot of interest. He has 27 offers, including from Duke, Indiana, Pittsburgh, Purdue and TCU.

25. Kenji Christian, Pinson Valley (Pinson)

Rushed 63 times for 451 yards and four touchdowns as a junior. His more eye-opening numbers are in the 40-yard-dash (4.58 seconds) and 33-inch vertical jump. He has 20 offers, including Georgia, Ole Miss, Duke, Tennessee and Utah.

26. Trent Battle, Daphne
6-1 | 200 | QB | TCU
The son of former MLB outfielder Allen Battle, Trent completed 156 of 202 passes for 1,868 yards with 21 touchdowns and just two interceptions. Rated the No. 18 dual-threat quarterback in the country, he has 13 offers other than TCU, including Kentucky, Nebraska and Central Michigan.

27. Edwin White, UMS-Wright Prep (Mobile)

A three-year starter, White already has 18 career interceptions, including nine last season, when he also piled up 87 tackles and registered six pass breakouts and added four fumble recoveries. He always seems around the ball.

28. Kameron Grays, Blount (Eight Mile)

Took an unofficial visit to Florida State on May 7 and appears to be leaning toward the Seminoles, who made him one of Grays' eight offers. Tennessee, Missouri and Auburn are others on his short list.

Had 33 tackles and three interceptions as a junior. He was the first Vols commit last July 4 and helps make up the third best recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports.

Has 1,859 career rushing yards as a three-year varsity player with 29 touchdowns. He broke loose with 178 carries for 1,263 yards and 20 TDs last season. Has 13 college offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State and LSU.

In 13 games, he completed 178-of-262 passes last season for 3,027 yards and 35 touchdowns while leading the Spartans to a 14-2 record as a junior. A dual threat, Perryman committed to Charlotte over Alabama A&M, Eastern Kentucky and Kentucky.
