Summit Country Day (Cincinnati) SoccerThe
Silver Knights won their second D-III state title in three years and
fourth overall by setting a state record with nine goals in the state
final, including six in first half (they won 9-0). They finished the
season 20-3.

Wadsworth BasketballThe
Grizzlies won the second state title in program history (the first
since 1997) and second over Mason with a 60-51 win in the D-I final. The
victory avenged an earlier season loss to the Comets, which was the
Grizzlies' lone blemish all year. Wadsworth beat Reynoldsburg 58-48 in
the semifinals. In two state tournament games the Grizzlies made 43 of
51 free throws. Wadsworth also finished the season ranked No. 1 in the
final AP poll.

JJHuddle/MaxPreps Ohio Boys Athlete of the Year
Seth Beard, Napoleon WrestlingThe
senior and Kent State recruit won his program’s first state title and
was named Most Outstanding Wrestler at the D-II state championships
after winning the 120-pound title. He beat three-time state champion
Tyler Warner of Claymont in the semifinals. A four-time state placer,
Beard owns the school record for career wins (196-12).

Hunter Atherton, Dublin Coffman VolleyballThe
MaxPreps all-American and Nebraska recruit was named first team
all-Ohio for the second-straight season after registering 734 assists,
171 digs and 146 kills as senior. She led her team to a No. 1 ranking
and D-I state final.
