McDonald's All-American point guard
Te-Hina Paopao and
Breya Cunningham, one of the top freshmen in the country, were spectacular in two wins last week for La Jolla Country Day.
In a 78-29 win over JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano) on Saturday, Paopao recorded a triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists while Cunningham, a 6-foot-3 post, added 27 points and 10 rebounds.

The next four teams — Mater Dei, Sierra Canyon, Mitty and Windward — also remain solid in the rankings. From the top 10 teams, which included new No. 9 Clovis West, the teams were a combined 21-1 last week.
Mater Dei (25-2) was impressive in wins over Aliso Niguel (75-26) and Las Vegas power Bishop Gorman (61-46). In the latter win, Mater Dei's Kevin Kiernan became the first girls basketball coach in state history to win 800 career games.
