La Salle (Cincinnati) basketball coach Dan Fleming was on the road to a full recovery after suffering a heart attack last week. Fleming, who is in his 21st season of coaching La Salle, has more than 300 coaching wins. He was not able to coach in the Lancers' Division I district final game against Dayton Meadowdale on Saturday at the University of Dayton Arena.
La Salle defeated Dayton Meadowdale 60-41 and advanced to the Division I regional semifinals this week.
Fleming, 48, received several well-wishes last week. "(It) has been amazing the number of calls, visitors and texts," Fleming told the Enquirer.

Allyson Malott was the named the Gatorade Ohio Girls Basketball Player of the Year for this season. Malott, who has signed with Dayton, has already been invited to the McDonald's All-American Game March 31 in Chicago. Malott averaged 21.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.2 steals for Madison, which was a Division III district finalist this season.

Fairmont (Kettering) vs. Start (Toledo), Division I girls basketball state semifinals: The first of the Division I state semifinals at Ohio State's Value City Arena takes place at 6 p.m. The winner plays either Twinsburg or Pickerington North in the championship game at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Columbus. Fairmont, ranked No. 4 in the final Associated Press poll, defeated Springboro 55-51 in the regional final last week.
* SWOWCA all-star wrestling meet, Wednesday: The seventh annual Southwest Ohio Wrestling Coaches Association Senior meet will be at 6:30 p.m. at Sycamore High School. There are expected to be 35 wrestlers and close to 20 schools represented.
* Division I boys basketball regional semifinals at Xavier University, Wednesday: It's an all-Cincinnati regional at Xavier University's Cintas Center this week.
